Cristiano Ronaldo has announced that he will no longer be playing in the Euro Cup after he wasted a penalty. Despite landing at the Euro for the sixth time, Rono said he would undoubtedly not play next time in Britain and Ireland.
In 2003, he made his first appearance at the Euro in a Portugal jersey. He was a key presence when the team won the title in 2016. He has scored 130 international goals.
“This is football. Those who fail are also those who have made efforts. I will devote my best to this jersey,” he said.
Miss you Rono
Cristiano Ronaldo was the only one to take a decisive penalty in extra time despite squandering a number of opportunities to score on his feet, as on the platter. However, the kick hit the hands of Slovak goalkeeper Jan Oblak and flew into the post and then outside. Moments when Rono stood in tears as usual, drowned in despair. Portugal goalkeeper Diego Costa’s winged-up team quay in a shootout where it looked like Cristiano would be the unlucky man of the quarter climbed onto the alter.
Sporting C.Wana Cristiano has been a regular presence in Portugal’s forwards at the Euro this time as well, starting with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and finally at the Saudi club Alnass. But for the great legend who has little parallels in world soccer, none of the figures are correct this time around in the German playgrounds. Not once have his boots hit the target, even as the team progresses with victories. That too, despite repeated shots reminiscent of the old Rono. Each time he put his hand on his head and shared his disappointment, he naturally cried really well when the penalty against Slovakia went out of hand in the pre-quarterfinals. “Even the strongest have their worst days. I was the worst when the team was waiting for the best performance,” said Cristiano himself, who later shared the reason for the tears.
