Substitute Cole Palmer (73rd minute) scored the consolation goal for England.
La Roja’s team became the champions with the ball beautifully throughout the tournament. Spain had won all the matches they played. They were also champions in the 1964, 2008, and 2012 Euro Cups. England have not won any major tournaments since winning the World Cup on home soil in 1966. All three goals of the match were scored in the second half, unlike in the first half.
