Novak Djokovic wins his 7th Wimbledon title. Second-seeded Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Sinikova of the Czech Republic won the Wimbledon women’s doubles title. Djokovic defeated Australia’s Nick Kyrios 1-4 in the final to clinch the title. 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-5. After lifting the cup for the seventh time, Djokovic joined Pete Sampras in winning the Bimbleton title.
Djokovic has reached the wimbledon final without a loss in 27 matches. Djokovic also surpassed Roger Federer to win a Grand Slam title. Rafael Nadal leads the list with 22 titles to his name. It was Djokovic’s seventh Wimbledon title. Federer has also won Wimbledon twice. Djokovic has also won nine Australian Open titles. He has won the US Open three times and the French Open twice.
In the final, Sikirios could only take the first set. Djokovic won the second and third sets easily. But in the fourth set, Kyrgios stayed with him. However, Djokovic won the tie-break and won the title.
Meanwhile, second-seeded Barbora Krajykova and Katerina Sinikova of the Czech Republic won the Wimbledon women’s doubles title. The Czech pair defeated the top seeded Chinese and Belgian pair of Zhang Shuai and Elise Mertens in straight sets. Score: 6-2, 6-4.
This is the fifth Grand Slam title that the Krajykova-Sinikova combine has won. This is the second time the Czech pair has lifted the Wimbledon title. It was also Krejcikova’s ninth Grand Slam title, having previously won the French Open title in the women’s singles.
