Toni Kroos bids adieu to the game

Germany’s super midfielder Toni Kroos has stepped down from professional football. His departure came after losing to Spain in the Euro Cup quarterfinals. Kroos had earlier announced that he would retire after the Euro 2020.

The 34-year-old retired after playing 114 matches for Germany. He has also scored 17 goals in the national jersey. Kroos announced his retirement from Real Madrid later this season. Kroos started his professional career with Bayern Munich in 2007 and scored 13 goals in 130 appearances for the club. Bayer Leverkusen played on loan in the meantime for a season. Kroos has been the driving force in Real Madrid’s midfield for 10 long years since 2014. He made 306 appearances for the club. He scored 22 goals.

Tony’s departure comes with the satisfaction of making passes to several prestigious achievements, including one World Cup, six Champions League titles, six Club World Cups, four La Liga titles, three Bundesliga titles, four Spanish Super Cups, and five European Super Cups.
